I’m Mary, and I struggle with my hands. I’m never sure what to do with them, and I’m most content when they are busy. So I create. I sewn, spin, knit, embroider, and very rarely crochet. This need to be busy mixes very well with our current home, as we (my husband, daughter, and myself) live on my parents’ small farm. We are surrounded by fields and gardens in the hills of Virginia. My parents have a small herd of meat goats, and as I find how deep my love of fiber has grown, we are expanding to Angora goats as well. I’m learning to dye using the abundance of material around me, and tie my creations every more deeply to the world around me.
“Seek to live a quiet life, and work with your hands.”
1 Thessalonians 4:11
